The Glossary
In World Changers we like to name things. That makes it easier for students to know that we're talking about the same thing when we bring it up. We also try hard to make the name match the purpose of the thing we're doing. This is the place to llink names of events/groups with what they actually are.
The Bean Zone: This is our coffee shop. It is located in the colorful room beside The Meeting Zone. We serve drinks which are held to the lowest price allowable so that we can foster relationships among our students. The Bean Zone also has tables for drawing and fun items which change regularly.
Breakout Groups: These are small groups we have after World Changers each Wednesday night. They give students an opportunity to discuss the message and connect with other students. These groups are about 10-15 minutes long and attendance is optional.
Drop Box: The drop box is an acrylic box located in The Meeting Zone. It is an area for people to "drop things off". We expect students to drop things off when they decide that God is more important than that thing. A student might drop off money when they decide that money doesn't have control of them anymore. CDs and DVDs are another popular choice for the Drop Box. Students can drop things in the Drop Box anytime so that nobody knows what they are disposing of in their life.
Fire Starters: This group meets weekly during summer break and monthy during the school year. It is a two-hour time of lunch, devotion, and working in our community. We start off with a brown bag lunch (each student brings their own lunch) and a 30 minute devotion. After lunch we go into the community and do work for one and a half hours. This is a great time for students to learn how to give selflessly.
The Game Zone: This is the game room located behind The Meeting Zone. This room contains a pool table, arcade system, and air hockey table. It is a great hangout place for those who love games.
The Meeting Zone: This is where we have our worship experiences. The Word of God goes forth in this room and we love to see llives changed here.
Revolutionaries: This is our Young Adults group. These students of the Bible are between 18 & 30 years old. We worship and discuss the Bible in a small group format. Revolutionaries meet in The Zone on Thursday nights at 6:30.
Transformers: This is our Jr. High group. Students are eligible to be a part of Transformers from 6th - 8th Grade. This particular group meets Sunday mornings at 9:30 immediately after adult praise and worship. We meet in The Zone and have a small group discussion.
Waking the Dead: This is our monthly prayer night. It takes place the first Friday of the month at 7:00 in The Zone. This is a time devoted to worship and prayer. Any and all people interested in prayer are invited to this incredible night of connection with God.
World Changers: This is our main Wednesday night experience. It is also the name of our youth group. This group consists of 6th - 12th grade students. During World Changers (which meets at 7:00 on Wed.) we have worship, a message, offering, breakout groups, and fellowship. Students are welcome to show up early and hang out in the Bean Zone or Game Zone. Pick-up for younger students is around 8:30.
The Zone: This is the youth area which consists of three sections (The Meeting Zone, The Bean Zone, and The Game Zone). It is located in the basement of the church. You can get to The Zone by going down the stairs located near the restrooms on the main floor. Most World Changers events and worship experiences take place in The Zone.
